Botanical: Hydrangea anomala petiolaris Description: A yellow variegated climbing hydrangea. In the spring this plant really shines. As summer progresses the gold margin turns to chartreuse. Plant on a tall oak tree or on a westward brick wall. White summer flowers. Great for specimen plantings, trellis and woodland gardens. Prefers moist, well-drained soil. May be slow to establish, but will be vigorous once established. Flower color is not affected by soil pH. Pruning is usually not needed, but the plant may she shaped after flowering. Grows 10-30 feet tall and 7-10 feet tall. PP#11038.
