Botanical Name: Spiraea japonica Description: A dwarf spirea with vibrant red leaf tips above a backdrop of bright golden foliage. Add pinkish-purple flowers in summer and you have season long interest. This is an excellent variety for mass plantings, to use in mixed borders or as a groundcover. Little care needed. Apply a controlled release fertilizer in early spring, and trim if needed to shape. Trim after flowering to encourage re-blooming. Adaptable to most soils. Deer resistant. Grows 1-2 feet tall and 2-3 feet wide.
