Botanical Name: Athyrium felix-femina Description: Lady Fern is one of the most widely grown of the ferns and popular for many reasons. It is a lovely plant with a fine and delicate appearance, happy in full sun or shade, tolerant of many soils, and resistant to deer. It spreads 30 to 36 inches and reaches 30 inches in height when mature, the fronds unfurl a light, bright green shade and gradually deepen to a darker shade. Always a good choice but especially as a first fern. Grow in containers, or as a cover in shaded and woodland settings. An excellent bedding under oriental lilies or hanging begonias.
Growing tips: Ferns prefer shade with indirect sunlight and high humidity. Moist, well-drained soil. Height: 24-36 inches
