Botanical Name: Colchicum autumnale Description: The foliage comes up in the spring and resembles hostas. The blooms present in the fall and are crocus-like though larger. You can grow the bulbs indoors on a windowsill, enjoy the flowers, and then afterward plant them in the garden. They grow 12 inches high and make nice accents or can be used effectively for fronting a border. They also provide the rock garden with late-season color. Up to 8" tall.
