Description: Senecio radicans glauca, native to South Africa, is commonly known as the "String of Bananas". Member of Compositae, or the Aster family. Stems have curious emerald green banana-shaped leaves with fascinating translucent "windows". Flowers are like pom-poms of many tiny white flowers and are fragrant. Quickly forms plush hanging baskets. Trhives in a bright room or with morning sun on a patio in temperate areas. Porous soil with adequate drainage. Bright light with ample airflow. Water thoroughly when soil is dry to the touch. Less water during winter months. Protect from frost.
