Who is BloomingBulb?
BloomingBulb.com was launched in 1991 by a small group of friends and
family - who brought 35 years of experience working with the world’s
top bulb and plant growers. The idea was to market top quality flower
bulbs, perennial plants and other horticultural products exclusively
over the internet, at the most economical prices for the consumer. We
are buying from the same growers as many of the larger brand names you
see on television, online, or in your mailbox. We chose to keep our
marketing and advertising costs low, so we can pass better prices along
to our shoppers! And, with our long history of both importing and
exporting plant products, we're able to offer a wide variety of plant
material from growers throughout the U.S., The Netherlands, and other
global growers.
In order to keep our marketing and advertising costs to a minimum, we
do not print or mail catalogs. Instead, we constantly update our
website with new items as they become available, and use newsletters and
social media to share seasonal updates and promotions.
For most of our orders, our products are shipped directly from our
fulfillment center in Michigan, which specializes in the handling of
seeds, perennial plants and bulbs. This affords us the ability to
monitor and maintain the high quality of the products we offer. We also
work with growers to direct ship from their fields, allowing us to be
even more competitive with our prices. Everything we offer is delivered
with a 100% guarantee to grow – or we will replace or refund to meet
your satisfaction.
We have the ability to ship internationally, but because of the
special agriculture inspections and shipping costs associated with
international shipping of horticulture products, it is very difficult to
remain price competitive on smaller orders. However, we can be very
competitive with larger quantity orders, so please contact us for
special price quotes on your needs.
The staff at BloomingBulb.com wish you an enjoyable and economical
gardening experience. Please let us know how we can be of help.

What's a bulb?
A flower’s "bulb" is its storage organ, also called a geophyte, which
holds the plant’s nutrients that it needs to survive. Common plants
that have bulbs are tulips, lilies, amaryllis, alliums, daffodils and
onions. Other types of geophytes are:
- Rhizomes - (iris, cannas, strawberries)
- Tubers/Tuberous roots - (dahlias, daylilies, potatoes)
- Corms - (crocus, gladiolus, freesia)
- Root divisions – (peonies, bleeding hearts)

What is a hardiness zone – which one do I live in?
A hardiness zone is a geographically-defined area in which a specific
category of plant life is capable of growing. Extra measures might need
to be taken in areas where temperatures are high, like moving the
plants from the ground to a much colder area through the winter. Click here to find the hardiness zone for where you live – or will be shipping your order to.
